After social distancing ended and domestic flights were reopened, local airlines are operating 11 routes to and from Danang with nearly 100 flights a day.

As a new outbreak recently occurred in Danang, on July 26, the administration granted permission to Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific, and Bamboo Airways to increase 17 more departures a day to Danang to carry tourists home. Several Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways flights were allowed to use larger aircraft. Up to 80,000 people have booked tickets from July 27 to 31.

It will take at least four days to transport all the passengers. The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam asked the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to let the airlines maintain the flights until July 31. Danang Airport managers were asked to use the international terminal for domestic flights to cope with the rising number of incoming flights.

In cases where passengers from Danang should be quarantined in Hanoi and HCM City, the CAAV and Airports Corporation of Vietnam will find ways to bring all passengers to Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports for prevention and control. The CAAV also asked local authorities to keep tracks of passengers from Danang to other provinces in case anyone is tested positive for Covid-19.

Vietnam Airlines passengers who booked tickets to Danang before July 25 and whose flights are supposed to take off before August 31 will be given a chance to change their flight date and route free of charge.

Vietjet Air passengers will also be given a chance to change flight dates and routes free of charge if their flights were supposed to take off from July 26 to August 31. They must submit requests three hours before the take-off hours. Passengers who want to return their tickets will receive the money within 90 days after submitting requests.

Bamboo Airways also issued similar announcements. Passengers must submit requests four hours before the take-off hours. For passengers that go in groups, they can also change flight routes and dates and return the tickets for free once. The groups must submit requests from July 28 to 31, 12 hours before the departing hours.
