Technical problems were blamed for the crash of the UH-1 helicopter in HCM City, which killed all four crew members on Wednesday.

Ambulances carrying the victims
The accident occurred during a flight training exercise.
Colonel Le Van Hanh, from Air Division 370, under the Vietnam Air Force, said the UH-1 helicopter encountered technical problems during the flight, but the pilot failed to deal with them. A crew member located a vacant plot of land for the pilot to bring the craft down, avoiding surrounding households.

Debris of the helicopter
Hanh said the bodies have been taken to a funeral home of the Ministry of Defense in Go Vap District, HCM City.
Lieutenant-general Vo Van Tuan, deputy chief of general staff of the Vietnam People's Army, told the Vietnam News Agency's correspondent that the helicopter took off from Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City at 7.15am and lost contact at 7.23am.
The UH-1 belongs to the Air Force Regiment 917, under the Air Force Division 370 of the Vietnam Air Force and Air Defense Force.
In July 2014, a military helicopter under the Air Defense-Air Force Service crashed in Hoa Lac Village, Binh Yen Commune, in Hanoi's Thach That District, killing 20 crew and military personnel.
