A bone-chilling strong spell has been forecasted to affect the northern and northern central regions of Vietnam from Saturday.

A bone-chilling strong spell has been forecasted to affect the northern and northern central regions of Vietnam from Saturday.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the lowest temperature in northern localities and the northern central province of Thanh Hoa would be between 8-11 degrees centigrade or even 0-6 degrees centigrade with frost in some high mountainous areas on February 20-22.

Between February 18-20, Hanoi would have strong wind and rain with low temperatures of between 8-11 degrees centigrade.

The rainfall in the northern regions would be 30-130mm.

Between February 19-21, the central localities from Nghe An to Thua Thien-Hue were predicted to face rain. Some areas would see violent wind and hail. Flash floods and landslides would happen in low areas.
