State President Nguyen Minh Triet had separate meetings with Filipino President Benigno Aquino III and the Central African Republic’s President Francois Bozizé Yangouvonda on September 21 in New York.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet said that the friendly and all-round cooperative ties between Vietnam and the Philippines have developed well, and that the coming 35th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2011 will be a good opportunity for the two sides to foster the relationship.
Filipino President Aquino confirmed that the Philippines will step up cooperation with other countries, especially ASEAN members, contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
When receiving Central African President Yangouvonda, State President Nguyen Minh Triet said Vietnam and the Central African Republic (CAR) have many similarities which are good foundations for the two countries to develop their relations. He said Vietnam is ready to cooperate with the CAR under various cooperation models.
Mr. Yangouvonda said his country treasures South-South cooperation and wants to boost ties with Vietnam, especially in agriculture, infrastructure and human resources development. The Central African President pledged to instruct his inferiors to implement specific cooperation projects with Vietnam.
