Information about the missing Spanish man is shared on Facebook

Many online forums for tourists and travellers have been spreading information about the man who has gone missing for several days in Binh Thuan while going on a south-north bike tour with his brother.

On the evening of September 2, a Facebooker, Nguyen Kim Oanh, wrote a status: "I am looking for Victor Garcia Escribano, 17 years old, from Spain. He was going on a bike tour with his brother Elias from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. He had lost his mobile phone and money when arriving in Ho Chi Minh City and now has been losing contact with his brother since August 30. I hope you can share this status to help find him as soon as possible".

Nguyen Kim Oanh said that she lives in Phan Rang City in Ninh Thuan Province and she met Elias Garcia on the afternoon of August 31 while he was trying to look for his brother.

Elias told me that he lost track of his brother Victor while they were cycling through Tuy Phong District in Binh Thuan. Victor is 17 years old, 1.7 metres tall and 60 kilos in weight. He was driving a bike and carrying an orange backpack. He wasn't bringing any personal papers, mobile phone or money, Oanh wrote.

Elias is staying at a pagoda in Phan Rang City to seek for help to look for his brother.

Oanh said that they have contacted local police and Spanish Embassy in Vietnam to seek for help.
