On November 9, Shinnyo-en Foundation had an online meeting with representatives from the Vietnam Fund for Learning Promotion over their annual scholarship programme for 2021.
At the meeting, the foundation announced the total amount of USD 9,000 for this year's scholarship programme and agreed on the support of VND 3 million for a university student and VND 1 million for a school student.
Speaking at the meeting, director of the Vietnam Fund for Learning Promotion, Pham Huy Hoan, said that the Covid-19 pandemic will affect the granting of scholarships to students.
"The pandemic has badly affected many social and economic activities but we’ll try to send the scholarships to students on time as discussed with the Shinnyo-en Foundation. We plan to grant the scholarships in February 2022.
Shinnyo-en Foundation has co-operated with the Vietnam Fund for Learning Promotion to give scholarships to disadvantaged students, build bridges and schools in many areas in Vietnam for 15 years.
