According to the ministry, the 29-year-old man came to Vietnam from Orman on July 9 to work at the Hoa Phat Group. He was sent to a quarantine area in Quang Ngai Province right after landing at the Danang Airport.
His samples were taken for viral testing on the same day and the results were announced positive for coronavirus on July 10. The patient is now being treated at the Dung Quat Industrial Zone.
This is the 370th Covid-19 infection case in Vietnam so far, and the 230th patient from abroad who was quarantined immediately after arrival.
The country has recorded no community infection of SARS-CoV-2 for 86 consecutive days since April 16.
On July 10, three more Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospital, raising the total number of recoveries to 350, and there has been no fatality so far.
As of July 11 morning, more than 12,920 people who had close contacts with Covid-19 patients or came from pandemic-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine areas, or at home.
