These stations are part of the city’s pilot programme for the treatment of Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms at local districts.
According to vice-director of Hanoi CDC, Khong Minh Tuan, these mobile medical stations will provide treatment for Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms who are gathered at local communes and wards.
"We’re going to set up 508 mobile medical stations including 20 at industrial and export processing zones," Tuan said. "The number may change depending on the demand for treatment."
Medical staff will be mobilised from universities, medical colleges, private medical facilities, and even retired doctors.
Director of Ha Dong District Healthcare Centre, Truong Thuy Phong said that they were preparing two places to gather Covid-19 patients with no symptoms, one location is the Phu Luong 2 Kindergarten.
“Each place can host between 150- 200 patients," he said.
Phu Do Ward in Nam Tu Liem District is now the epicentre of cases in the city. Vice-chairman of Phu Do Ward People's Committee, Le Van Chu, said that they had set up a mobile medical station on November 15 to help treat the patients with mild or no symptoms.
On November 17, Hanoi set up five centres to quarantine and treat Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms in the districts of Hoai Duc, Soc Son, Thanh Tri, My Duc, and Long Bien with a total of 1,150 beds.
The capital city has seen a remarkable increase in the number of new Covid-19 infections with 258 cases confirmed on Wednesday. There are 12 clusters of infections in the whole city with more than 120 quarantined areas.
As of Thursday, the city has confirmed nearly 7,000 cases since the fourth wave of Covid-19 started in late April.
