Luong Duc Thuat's family receives the donation

Fourteen-month old Luong Duc Thuat is being treated at the National Hospital of Acupuncture. Thuat had a high fever at 7-month-old which wouldn't go down. His father, Luong Van Vinh, borrowed money from relatives to bring him to the hospital. Thuat was transferred to National Children's Hospital with meningitis. He was also diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a complication.

Vinh had to sell the rice field and depended on charity meals to live by. His wife went to Bac Ninh to find work.

Vinh, all three of his siblings and his aunt suffer from thalassemia. His sister died at seven years old because they were too poor to afford the treatment. Vinh and his siblings are given a monthly allowance of VND405,000 per person but it was not enough. It would take all of their allowances for just one person's treatment.
