Vu Hong Son and his sister Vu Thi Thang in Vinh Tru Town, Ly Nhan District, are one of the most difficult cases in the area. Son is blind since birth and the only family left for his sister who is mentally ill and often wanders around. Both of their parents died long ago.

When Son was still young, he milled flour for some money but now he is too weak to work. When his sister wandered outside, he was always worried and tried to find her as soon as possible. Since he can't see anything, he had to ask for help from the neighbours. She once fell so hard that her head bleed. She was scared of going out since then.

"What I feared most is calling her when I got home but didn't hear her answer. I told her to stay home but it was only effective for a few minutes," he said.

After their story was published, many people have donated to the brother and sister VND354,300,000. Son said he was very moved and would spend a part of the money to help other disadvantaged people in his area.

Tran Van Su, deputy head of the residential cluster, said, "For a poor family here, this is a huge amount of money that they have never dreamt of. We want to thank everyone that help to provide this miracle for Son and his sister. I hope Son and his sister will be able to live well from now on."
