The incident happened in Dinh Quan Commune on August 12.
The yellow dog, weighing approximately seven kilos, showed symptoms of drooling, red eyes, agitation, restlessness and fear after the attack. The dog’s owner has not yet been identified.
The dog tested positive for rabies a day after the attack.
All of the 11 people have been vaccinated against rabies after being bitten.
So far this year, Dong Nai has recorded 24 rabies incidents, including one death.
Vietnam saw 22 rabies-related human deaths in the first two months of this year, more than double the same period last year.
According to the National Rabies Prevention and Control Programme for 2022-2030, the rabies vaccination rate for the country’s dog and cat population will be 70 percent between 2022 and 2025.
