The animal was spotted at around 9 am on April 7 in Quang Son 4 Hamlet, Duong Hoa Commune, by a local resident, who alerted authorities.

Police from Duong Hoa Commune, working with residents, quickly arrived at the scene and safely captured the crocodile. The reptile was estimated to weigh around 50 kilogrammes.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities later handed the animal over to local forest rangers for management in line with regulations.
The Duong Hoa Commune People’s Committee said any individual or organisation claiming to be the lawful owner or custodian of the freshwater crocodile should report to the commune office.
After five days, if no claimant comes forward, the case will be handled in accordance with the law.
