Under a pilot scheme announced by airport authorities, a dedicated lane will be introduced for travellers using the digital identification system, which carries the same legal validity as a citizen ID card for administrative and transport procedures, including air travel.
To support the rollout, Danang police have asked relevant agencies to deploy staff, equipment and on-site registration points at the airport for passengers wishing to upgrade to Level 2 accounts.
Security personnel and airline staff will receive training on verification procedures using VNeID, while communication efforts will be stepped up to familiarise passengers with the system.
The pilot is expected to streamline check-in processes, reduce reliance on paper documents and enhance the overall passenger experience, while advancing Vietnam’s broader digital transformation agenda.
