According to the provincial Department of Tourism, Quang Ninh has planned to hold roughly 150 events, from culture and sport to tourism and trade in order to help lure visitors.

The local tourism sector has been hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year, the number of tourists to Quang Ninh dropped by half on-year.
Since March 2, Quang Ninh has reopened some famous tourist sites for local visitors as the Covid-19 pandemic has gradually been controlled. This will be piloted until March 15.
The number of tourists to Quang Ninh has been forecasted to remain low by the end of the first quarter of this year because of the impact of Covid-19.
Nguyen Thuy Yen, deputy director of the provincial Department of Tourism, the local tourism sector has focused on training staff to prepare for the tourism recovery after the pandemic. The Quang Ninh Tourism Department will co-operate with local concerned agencies on training activities.
To date, around 7,800 tourism staff in Quang Ninh, equal to 30% of the provincial tourism sector’s total staff, have stopped working. Meanwhile, around 50% in the industry have temporarily halted their job and the remaining 20% have faced unemployment.
