Ten years ago, the only way for people in Quy Lan 6 Village to go out of the locality was by boat. So locals collected money to build a temporary bridge. However, the bridge is now in bad condition, posing a danger for people using it.

Local people face higher transportation costs for goods such as construction materials and fertilizer. In many cases, people have to call traders to come to their houses directly to carry rice and farm produce.
Pham Thi Anh, has to take her four grandsons to school. Whenever going through the bridge, they worry about it potentially collapsing.
The villagers have planned to build a new bridge several times, but over the recent years, construction material prices have sharply increased.
Pham Thanh Son, party secretary of Thanh Quoi Commune, said the locality’s budget was very modest, so the plan to build a new bridge for Quy Lan 6 Village has not yet been conducted. The project would cost up to VND400 million.
He hoped that donors could help the village.
