On the late afternoon of July 7, officers from the local Market Management Department and nearly 100 policemen raided a large store containing consumer goods at 145 Hoang Dieu Street in Lao Cai Province.
The 10,000 square metres store was hosting three staff members livestreaming on various Facebook accounts to introduce their products.
Orders from customers were then passed to 40 other staff members who worked through professional marketing and selling softwares. Products would then be sent via many channels including Viettel Post.
According to an employee, they are receiving up to 100-200 orders from wholesale customers every day.
The owner of the store, Tran Thanh Phu, 28, he and her younger sister had managed the store for two years.
Most of the goods are footwear, glasses, watches, cosmetics and consumer goods, which are fake products of several popular brands including LV, Gucci, Chanel, and Adidas.
"We have watched their operations for almost six months before carrying out the raid," the local market department said. "This is a very large trading ring which is working smoothly and efficiently thanks to effective softwares."
The authorities have seized all the goods for further investigation.
