Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung set definite deadlines for site clearance for the Noi Bai-Lao Cai, Cau Gie-Ninh Binh and HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay highway projects.

Site clearance slows down major highway projects
The PM said that some highway projects constructed by the Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation (VEC) are behind schedule because to the slow pace of sight clearance.
In order to ensure that those projects are completed on schedule, the PM requested chairmen of cities and provinces where the highways are located cooperate in order to speed up the process.
He required that site clearance for the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Gighway be completed and handed over to the investor prior to January 10, 2012.
Construction site of the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh and HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay highway projects must be cleared and handed over to the investors before Tet.
The authorities that administer these localities will have to work out solutions to complete compensation for families who will have to relocate in order to clear the sites in question.
He added that the Ministry of Transport must work closely with local authorities to supervise site clearance and ensure the quality of the construction.
