Small peach flower branches are sold for VND50,000 (USD2.22) to VND200,000 at the famous Quang Ba Flower Market and Nhat Tan Flower Village.
Nguyen Van Thiet, the owner of a peach flower garden, said the flowers were likely to blossom late because of cold weather. The prices may go up as well. If being taken care of in the right ways, the flowers will blossom on time to celebrate the new year. Thiet is selling each flower pot at the price of VND5m (USD221) to VND10m.
"I don't wait for Tet but buy peach flowers very early on so that I can enjoy the atmosphere. Both the flowers and the prices are nice too," said Dinh The Nam, a local in Dong Da District.
Some traders come to the garden to choose the best flowers in large quantity.
