Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Asia, a subsidiary of Honolulu-based Outrigger Enterprises Group, has signed an agreement with developer Vietnamese American Hotel and Resort Co. Ltd. to jointly design and manage a new luxury resort being built along Vietnam’s Central Coast.
The Outrigger Vinh Hoi Bay Resort and Spa will be part of the $250 million Vinh Hoi Bay Golf Resort, an 803-acre destination resort comprised of four other hotels that sits less than two miles north of Quy Nhon in Vietnam’s Binh Dinh Province.
Outrigger’s partner on the project, Vietnamese American Hotel & Resort Co., is a wholly owned subsidiary of the U.S. investment firm ITC Spectrum LLC.
When completed in late 2013, the 210-room Outrigger Vinh Hoi Bay Resort and Spa will boast 46 one- and two-bedroom private villas, a two-story grand villa, six restaurants, cooking school, yoga and wellness center, children’s amusement center, fitness center, library, adventure center, and retail outlets.
Under construction since 2007, The Vinh Hoi Bay Golf Resort will have a total of five luxury destination hotels including the Outrigger resort, in addition to individual villas.
The centerpiece of the resort will be an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II.
It also will have an equestrian center, marina and arboretum.
The entire destination resort will be built in phases, with Outrigger’s new resort among the first being built.
Outrigger Enterprises Group operates Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, Ohana Hotels & Resorts, Outrigger Condominium Collection, Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk and Courtyard by Marriott in Hawaii. It also manages properties on the Mainland and in Asia and the Pacific.
