
Doctors at the Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City take care of a British Covid-19 patient on June 10.
The new patient is a 37-year-old man who lives in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. He arrived at Vung Tau Port from Malaysia on May 30 and was immediately sent to a centralised quarantine area.
He first tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 on May 31. In the second test taken on June 11 when he was preparing to finish the quarantine period, the results came positive.
The man is being treated at Ba Ria Hospital.
As of 6pm on June 12, 323 Covid-19 patients have recovered, accounting for 97% of the patient tally, said the committee.
There are 5,971 people who were in close contact with Covid-19 patients or came from the virus-hit areas are under quarantine in the country.
