The scene of the accident
According to the Hue Central Hospital, 28 patients are currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the crash. Four of the victims are in serious condition, while the others suffered less severe injuries but remain under observation.
Local authorities reported that the accident occurred at around 1.30 am on a road in Phu Xuan District, Hue City.
The incident involved a passenger bus carrying 39 people, driven by 48-year-old Mai Van Hai, which rear-ended a reversing truck driven by 44-year-old Vu Quoc Viet, who had two passengers on board. The impact of the crash killed the bus conductor, 20-year-old Vu Nguyen Hoang Anh, at the scene and injured 28 passengers.
Rapid testing showed that the truck driver was negative for drugs and had no alcohol in his system at the time of the accident.
