Northern region to see another cold spell

Another strong cold snap is expected to hit the northern region soon, causing temperatures in some mountainous area to fall to below zero.

Another strong cold snap is expected to hit the northern region soon, causing temperatures in some mountainous area to fall to below zero.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the whole northern region will have drizzle until this weekend with the warmer temperatures ranging between 18 and 22 degrees centigrade in many localities, including Hanoi.

From the evening of Sunday, the region’s temperatures will decrease by 3-5 degrees centigrade. Hanoi will see the temperature of between 12-16 degrees centigrade; meanwhile, some mountainous areas will face bone-chilling cold as the temperature is forecasted to fall to below zero. 

Central localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue Province are expected to be cloudy and have drizzle until January 8. The areas from Danang City to Binh Thuan Province will have heavy rains and strong wind during this time. 

While some localities in the Central Highlands and the southern regions are forecasted to have rains in some days to come.
