Police in Nghe An Province have arrested 42 suspects involved in a large-scale online military weapons trafficking ring.
To operate, the suspects used a website and multiple social media platforms to post images and descriptions of weapons and components, contacting customers with demand for the illegal goods.
Authorities said that from August 2024 to December 2025, the ring recruited dozens of participants and sold hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition along with numerous military-grade weapon parts, earning illicit profits of hundreds of millions of dong.
From December 15 to 24, Nghe An police deployed dozens of task forces and coordinated with police units nationwide to carry out simultaneous raids, leading to the emergency arrest of 42 suspects.
Searches uncovered 64 military firearms, 28,720 rounds of military ammunition, 24 support weapons, 1,260 steel and rubber bullets, along with two laptops, 42 mobile phones and other related evidence.

Police seize dozens of guns and tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Nghe An police said this was the largest case involving military weapons ever uncovered by the force, helping to cut off a major source of criminal activity and strengthen public security.
