According to Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the provincial Department of Tourism, the department has co-operated with tourism experts to build new tours featuring stories about HCM City.
On the Reunification Day and May Day holiday this year, the city will launch five new tours, including in Can Gio District.
A tour on Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal
For the Can Gio tour, travellers will have a chance to travel by boat to visit local swiftlet swift-breeding models as well as bird's nest pre-processing. They will be also taken to see the American War-period guerrilla base in the Sac Forest. The tour package price has been halved to VND1.6-2 million per person against previously.
Phan Xuan Anh, chairman of Saigon Boat Company, said that his firm will open a tour on Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal. With the tour, visitors can sit on boats to enjoy tea and southern music.
In addition 3–5-star hotels in HCM City have announced price discounts of 40%-65% during the holiday.
Many travel companies have seen a recovery in tour booking with high occupancy of hotels of between 3-5 stars.
