National Assembly Vice chairwoman, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan
Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was first elected member of the Politburo in 2013 and was re-elected by the Party Central Committee at the 12th National Congress held in Hanoi in January.
Ngan, who is former Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, has held several political posts. She is former director of the Ben Tre Province's Department of Finance, former deputy Minister of Finance, and former Party Committee Secretary of Hai Duong Province.
The Forbes' list of top 20 most influential women in Vietnam highlighted outstanding women. Politburo member Tong Thi Phong; Politburo member Truong Thi Mai, Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation; Nguyen Phuong Nga, Deputy Foreign Minister and representative of Vietnam to the United Nations, swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien; Doctor Ha Thi Thuy, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Genetics Institute; and businesswomen Mai Kieu Lien, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Thai Huong were all featured.
