National Assembly deputies have started questioning the prime minister and four other ministers regarding controversial and pressing issues this morning (November 22).

Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang, Health Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu, Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh and Transport Minister, Ho Nghia Dung are all yielding questions from NA deputies.
Minister Vu Huy Hoang began the Q&A session today seeking to provide answers to the power shortage, sluggish implementation of power projects and flood water discharging of power plants. He also responded to issues related to the bauxite projects in the Central Highlands, trade deficit, and price hikes of many goods such as medicine and milk.
The questions for Health Minister Trieu included over-loading at major public hospitals in Hanoi and other cities; sharply rising costs of medicine; great disparity in medicine prices among drugstores; paying commissions for doctors for prescriptions and cooperation between doctors and medicine companies to raise medicine prices.
Other questions for Trieu focus on excessive storage of Tamiflu in the period of 2003-2005 as well as gender imbalance.
Finance Minister Ninh has been asked about the management and distribution of the state budget; public debt; his responsibility for managing capital and assets at Vinashin (Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group) and escalating price increases.
The questions for Transport Minister Dung asked for an explanation of the ministry\'s responsibility in the financial losses at troubled Vinashin. He has also been asked about the situation of still-high traffic accidents, deadly potholes in many roads in Ho Chi Minh City, a high number of unregistered vehicles and particularly reasons to resume the USD55.8-billion hi-speed railway route running from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
On November 24, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will add more details to minister’s answers. The government leader also received questions about Vinashin, bauxite exploitation and price changes.
National Assembly Office Chairman Tran Dinh Dan said other members would also participate in the question-and-answer sessions of the issues raised related to their ministries and agencies.
