“We acknowledge a technical issue that has affected a number of Facebook groups. We are currently working to resolve it,” the Meta representative told Dantri.

However, Meta did not disclose the specific cause of the incident.
The issue was not limited to Vietnam but also impacted numerous groups globally. According to TechCrunch, the disruption may be linked to Meta's recent ramp-up in AI-powered moderation features.
On the afternoon of June 24, many Facebook group administrators in Vietnam received a notice stating, “We have suspended your group.” The problem was reported across groups of various categories, including buy-and-sell communities, entertainment, and technology.
By the morning of June 25, some groups had been restored and resumed normal operations, although many others remained inactive.
“We’ve received an email response from Meta. They said they’re working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” said Ngo Minh Hieu, an administrator of several Facebook groups.
On Reddit, group administrators stated that they consistently complied with Meta’s guidelines and regularly moderated sensitive content.
Some said their groups only focused on harmless topics such as budgeting tips, parenting support, pet care, Pokémon discussions, or mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, yet they still received vague violation notices involving “terrorism” or “nudity,” which they claimed never appeared in their communities.
In addition to Facebook and Instagram, platforms like Pinterest and Tumblr have recently faced a wave of account suspensions, raising concerns that AI-driven moderation systems may be triggering false positives and causing widespread disruptions.
