According to initial information, a 32-year-old man named Duy in Thanh Oai District’s Bich Hoa Commune was found with serious injuries after jumping from the second floor of his house to the ground around midday. He is now in hospital for treatment.
Neighbours found two children, one aged three and the other aged five, lying on the floor with the smell of pesticide around. They were quickly taken to hospital, however, they both died.
Around a month earlier, the man and his wife were said to have had arguments and the wife returned to her parents’ home.
He lives with his parents and his younger brother in the house, but at the time, the incident happened, they were not at home.
People suspected that Duy forced his children to drink pesticide before he attempted to commit suicide. Police are investigating the case.
