A man flying from Hong Kong to Vietnam has been caught hiding up to three kilos of gold on his person.

A man flying from Hong Kong to Vietnam has been caught hiding up to three kilos of gold on his person.

The man arrived on Flight UO550 at Noi Bai International Airport around 9 am on Friday.

The gold was found being hidden in the shoes


After being suspected of carrying metal objects, the airport’s customs officers checked him using a metal detector. They then discovered three metal bars weighing 3 kilos on his body and shoes.

The man claimed that the metal bars were 9999 pure gold worth around VND6 billion (USD 242,500).

The case has been handed over to the police for investigation.
