Lao worker bodies found in Vietnam after flooding

Thanh Hoa border guards said on October 16 that they were preparing to transfer the bodies of two workers to Lao government.

Lao authorities have asked Vietnam to search for the workers after it was shown that they had been swept into Vietnam by the flood that occurred in Laos from October 9 to 13.

Vietnamese authorities quickly conducted a search for the workers after receiving the news. The body of one of the workers was found on October 12 and the other worker was found three days later in Lo River.

The workers were born in 1985 and 1987 respectively. They were both from Vieng Xay District, Houaphanh Province.

Procedures are being completed to transfer the bodies of the workers to Laos for their funerals
