The IPU-132, which takes place in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1, is themed "Sustainable development goals: Turning words into action."

Ngo Duc Manh, deputy head of the National Assembly (NA)'s Committee for External Relations, said that the four-day event would run 67 sessions to discuss and finalize several draft resolutions on cyber warfare, water governance and international law of national sovereignty.

A ceremony to mark the 30th founding anniversary of the Meeting of Women Parliamentarians will also take place.

On the sidelines of the IPU-132 there will be a flurry of meetings between participating delegations.

According to Tran Van Hang, head of the NA Committee for External Relations and the permanent deputy head of the IPU-132's organising board, over 160 delegations have registered to attend the event so far.

The assembly will be the largest diplomatic event ever held in the country, said Hang.
