Illegal building on Ma Pi Leng shuts down on October 14

According to Meo Vac District authorities, they had worked with Vu Thi Anh, the owner of Ma Pi Leng Panorama hotel and bar and she agreed to follow the decisions to shut down the building. On October 14, the sign which says the hotel was closed was put up at the reception desk.

Tourists can still enter the building to see the scenery but no other services were offered.

On October 11, Anh painted the building green in order to make it blend more with the scenery.

Ha Giang Department of Construction announced that they would demolish most of the seven-storey building. A small part will remain as a tourist pit stop. Trees would be planted on the empty land. Meo Vac District authorities were asked to carry out the plan and complete everything by November 15.

The investors must complete legal procedures for the remaining part within 60 days.

The seven-storey building has 500 square metres of surface area. The owner was only able to provide the building's blueprint and failed to present any other legal papers.
