Huyen wins two golds at Asian Weightlifting Champs

Vietnamese female weightlifter VuongThi Huyen has bagged two gold medals at Asian Weightlifting Champs 2015 in Phuket, southern province of Thailand.

Vietnamese female weightlifter VuongThi Huyen has bagged two gold medals at Asian Weightlifting Champs 2015 in Phuket, southern province of Thailand.

She defeated strong rivals from China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Thailand to triumph in women’s 48kg, with a total lift of 190kg.

Earlier, Huyen lifted 86kg in the snatch category to win a gold medal.

In the men's 56kg event, Vietnamese weightlifter Tran Le Quoc Toan pocketed 2 sliver and one bronze medals with a total lift of 272kg (120kg snatch and 152kg jerk and clean).

The competition is scheduled to end at September 12.
