35 people were detained for illegally entering from China to Lao Cai Province on January 17.

The people including 17 men and 18 women aged between 17-21 are from ethnic minority groups in the province.

The group told the border officers that they illegally crossed the border to China last September and worked at timber processing factories in Guangxi Province. They now wanted to return home for Tet Holiday.

Local authorities have conducted health check-ups and sent all those people to quarantine areas following the government's regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.
