Hundreds of households in the mountainous district of Thanh Chuong in the central Nghe An Province had to leave their houses on Thursday evening due to rising floods.



Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee, Trinh Van Nha, said that heavy rains following the Storm Molave had resulted in rising water at local rivers.

"Some areas in our district have been isolated," the official said. "Schools have been closed and we had to move hundreds of households on the evening of October 29 to ensure their safety.



Many roads in Thanh Chuong have been seriously damaged due to flooding and landslides.


Many households in Ngoc Son Commune had to move out due to landslides and floods.


Dung Town was flooded on Thursday evening.


Vice chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee, Le Dinh Thanh told Dantri that many roads in the area have been closed due to flooding including Thanh Mai, Ngoc Lam, Hanh Lam, and Thanh Khe.
