People were storming out of Thuan Kieu Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City Sunday when they saw massive fire and smoke coming out of a kitchen on the ground floor.
14 fire trucks and nearly 100 firefighters rushed to the scene.
The fire started at around 7:30AM. People near the scene said it was coming from the kitchen of a restaurant on the ground floor of the shopping centre, then quickly spread to the customers area, which was deserted at the time.
There were hundreds of people in other areas of the shopping centre, but most were not aware of the incident until fire trucks and fighters rushed to the scene. Many people then panicked and started rushing out of the building.
14 fire trucks and nearly 100 firefighters quickly contained the flames, and after nearly one hour, they managed to put them out. The fire did not cause any injuries, but burnt down a large part of the kitchen.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
The fire was quickly contained, thanks to early detection.
