
The Kien Giang Province Maritime Port Authority announced on Saturday morning that high-speed boat and ferry services to Phu Quoc, Nam, Du islands have been suspended due to bad weather.
There are currently over 30 high-speed boat trips running between Ha Tien City and Rach Gia City to Phu Quoc Island. Passengers who have bought tickets can get a refund or change to another day.
The Thuong Chanh Port Management Board also announced that all four boat services on the Phan Thiet-Phu Quy Island have been suspended due to bad weather. The Superdong Phu Quy I, Superdong Phu Quy II, and Trung Trac will be suspended from July 13 to 15, while the Phu Quy Express will be suspended between July 13 and 16.
According to the Phu Quoc Company, their two high-speed boat routes connecting Vung Tau and HCM City to Con Dao Island have also been suspended from July 12 to 17 due to bad weather.
The southern coastal provinces from Binh Thuan to Kien Giang are witnessing heavy downpours and strong winds which have pushed waves rising up to from 2-4 metres. The bad weather is forecasted to last two more days.
