According to the ministry's proposal, people who visit Vietnam by air need to show their negative results for SARS-CoV-2 within 72 hours of arrival using RT-PCR/RT-LAMP testing method or within 24 hours using a quick testing method. This requirement is not applied to children under two years old. After arriving in Vietnam, they have to follow Covid-19 prevention and control measures like everyone else.
People arriving in Vietnam by other ways need to take a Covid-19 test within 24 hours, the proposal said. If they have negative results, they will continue to follow regulations for Covid-19 prevention and control. If they test positive for Covid-19, they need to inform local healthcare departments for monitoring and treatment.

The tourism sector is expected to provide services for 65 million holidaymakers, including approximately 5 million foreign visitors, in 2022, said Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
