According to the ministry's proposal, people who visit Vietnam by air need to show their negative results for SARS-CoV-2 within 72 hours of arrival using RT-PCR/RT-LAMP testing method or within 24 hours using a quick testing method. This requirement is not applied to children under two years old. After arriving in Vietnam, they have to follow Covid-19 prevention and control measures like everyone else.

People arriving in Vietnam by other ways need to take a Covid-19 test within 24 hours, the proposal said. If they have negative results, they will continue to follow regulations for Covid-19 prevention and control. If they test positive for Covid-19, they need to inform local healthcare departments for monitoring and treatment.

Everyone entering Vietnam have to make health declarations using PC-COVID apps during their stay in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is actively working with relevant ministries and sectors to realize the Government’s recent decision on reopening all borders to international tourism as of March 15.

The tourism sector is expected to provide services for 65 million holidaymakers, including approximately 5 million foreign visitors, in 2022, said Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
