A ferry route linking Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau City is scheduled to become operational by the end of this month.
The information was given by Pham Quoc Chanh, director of Quoc Chanh Ltd. Company, the project investor.
The HCM City-Vung Tau ferry route is scheduled to become operational by this end of this month.
According to Chanh, almost all the work on the route has been completed. The service’s trial run will last for four days before the official operation scheduled on December 29.
Six ferries will be used for the 15-km route which will take around 30 minutes. They can transport 250 passengers, 100 motorbikes and 20 cars and make 24 return trips a day.
The service will connect HCM City’s coastal suburban district of Can Gio and popular resort city of Vung Tau.
The proposed one-way ticket is VND60,000-70,000 (USD3.04) per person.
Due to Covid-19, the project’s construction pace was slowed instead of being slated on the National Day Holiday on September 2.
