HCM City to hold Ao Dai Festival
After being delayed twice due to Covid-19, the festival will be held at 6.30 pm on October 11 at the Museum of Vietnamese History on Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, District 1. The festival is a highlight of HCM City's tourism industry and this year, it will be celebrated on the occasion of the Hanoi’s Liberation Day on October 10 to honour Vietnamese women and ao dais.
The festival theme this year is I Love Vietnamese Ao Dai. Various activities will be held such as an online contest, conferences about ao dai and heritage as well as music and fashion shows at several schools and tourist spots.
Many artists will participate in the festival.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, deputy director of the Department of Tourism said that this year's festival is also a part of the Hello Ho Chi Minh City campaign to boost tourism. Ao dai will continue to be promoted to the world online, along with HCM City as a safe and lively destination.
Many artists will participate in the festival including Phi Dieu, Kim Xuan and Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 Nguyen Tran Khanh Van.
