Traffic congestion on Highway 1A

The BOT project was proposed by Cuu Long Corporation for Investment, Development and Project Management of Infrastructure and involve three other investors.

The 30km long overpass will run along National Highway 1A, from Thu Duc District to Binh Tan District.

It is estimated that the project would cost over USD895m and could be open for traffic in 2020. The constructions will be divided into three phrases and sections.

Highway 1A connects the city with the Mekong Delta Region. Out of date statistics from 2012 showed 86,300 vehicles used the highway daily, 2.1 times higher the designed capacity, leading to major traffic congestion.
