HCM City has suspended all visits to patients at hospitals as well as the operation of local private specialist clinics since March 30 as an effort to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
The decision was issued by Nguyen Tan Binh, director of the municipal Department of Health on Monday.
Hospitals in HCM City have been requested to classify and control the number of patients, their relatives and people related to hospital service supply.
Each patient is allowed to be taken care of by only one relative. Doctors have to carefully consider cases who need in-patient treatment.
In case of the cross-infection, hospitals have to immediately stop receiving patients, except for those who are in critical condition. The quarantine will then be applied for the whole hospital.
Hospitals have to make the list of people who take care of patients.
Private general clinics and hospitals have to suspend plastic surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation services. Meanwhile, all local private specialist clinics have to close from March 30.
To date, HCM City has recorded 47 Covid-19 patients, standing the second nationwide, just behind Hanoi, including 10 discharged from hospital.
