Bus stations were full of passengers waiting. At 5pm, people started flocking to My Dinh Bus Station to buy tickets to Yen Bai, Lao Cai and Quang Ninh provinces. My Dinh Bus Station's Deputy Head Nguyen Manh Tuan estimated that the station would serve 15,000 to 20,000 passengers a day. Most people want to travel from the afternoon of April 27 or April 28.

"We've added up to 200 more trips and worked with the traffic police, the NA Committee of Traffic Safety to regulate the traffic and deal with violating passenger buses that randomly pick up passengers," Tuan said.

On April 28, main streets leading out to the city such as Giai Phong, Ngoc Hoi and the Ring Road 3 experienced traffic jams. Traffic Police Team 14 said about 100 officers had been deployed at congestion spots to help deal with the traffic. Before the holiday, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security ordered related agencies to ensure traffic safety for the holiday.

The police will increase their presence at congestion hot spots, especially in Hanoi and HCM City, and strictly deal with violators.
