Hanoi to set up fruit vending machines to replace street vendors
The vending machines, which are expected to replace street vendors, will provide a wide variety of beverages, snacks and fresh fruits. The city will also encourage the sale of souvenirs for tourists at these machines.
The machines will be set up at hospitals, schools, bus stations, depots, passenger waiting rooms, historic and cultural sites, tourist attractions and parks. They will be capable of returning correct change to customers besides also accepting other payment methods such as cards and QR codes.
The people’s committee said the machines will gradually replace vendors and modernise retail sales in the city.
