Hanoi taxi driver hands lost backpack to police

A taxi driver in Hanoi turned in a backpack containing valuables and documents after discovering it had been left behind by a Chinese tourist.

Hanoi police said on January 7 that officers in Yen Hoa Ward had helped a Chinese national recover belongings forgotten in a taxi.

Earlier, on the morning of January 5, app-based taxi driver Hoang Minh Sanh went to Yen Hoa Ward police to report that a Chinese tourist had left a backpack in his vehicle. The bag contained personal property and important documents. Sanh handed it over to the police and asked for help returning it to its owner.

The ward police leadership immediately ordered officers to verify the case and handle it swiftly.

Using professional measures, Yen Hoa Ward police identified and contacted Xu Zhenbing, the owner of the backpack. At about 2 pm the same day, Xu Zhenbing and Hoang Minh Sanh arrived at the police station to complete the handover procedures.

Moved after receiving his belongings, Xu Zhenbing expressed his deep gratitude to Hoang Minh Sanh and thanked Yen Hoa Ward police for their dedicated support.
