Although the trees, with the scientific name Dalbergia tonkinensis, can be found in many places across the city, they are not usually grown in lines along streets, but scattered in parks or gardens.

Their flowers only bloom once a year for around a week. White sua flowers grow in clusters and their fragrance can be experienced even from a distance.

During their blooming time, the trees usually attract lots of people who come to enjoy their pure beauty or take some photos.

Ho Dac Di Street is among the few streets in the city that have a line of sua trees. The street is now covered in the white colour of its flowers.
