Hung Yen plans VND 2.5 trillion social housing project

Hung Yen Province plans to develop a social housing project worth more than VND 2.5 trillion (USD 95 million), providing nearly 1,300 apartments as it seeks to expand affordable housing supply.

The provincial People's Committee has announced details of the project in My Hao and Duong Hao wards, with preliminary investment estimated at more than VND 2.503 trillion.

The development will cover about 4.3 hectares, including 3.5 hectares in Duong Hao and 0.8 hectares in My Hao.

Preliminary plans call for 1,296 social housing apartments and 64 low-rise terraced houses, with total residential floor space of about 146,700 square metres.

Construction is expected to take 24 months from the date the land is allocated, with the investor eligible for incentives under existing regulations.

The site is currently used mainly as agricultural land, alongside some rural transport and irrigation land.

It has been designated for social housing under the adjusted master plan for the former My Hao Town through 2040, with a vision to 2050, and borders Nguyen Binh Street.

The project will add to several large social housing developments under way in Hung Yen.

At Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park, GiP Land and Green i-Park are developing about 1,700 social housing units in seven nine-storey buildings, plus 320 rental units for around 700 workers.

Another major project in Pho Hien Ward, developed by Vinhomes JSC, will cover about 31 hectares and provide 5,500 apartments in nine-storey buildings for nearly 12,000 residents, along with about 320 rental units.

Hung Yen has been assigned a target of completing about 5,900 social housing units in 2026, rising to 10,500 in 2027. Targets are set at 9,300 units in 2028, 9,450 in 2029 and 9,600 in 2030.
