Tay Ninh detects five people entering Vietnam illegally

Border patrol officers in Tay Ninh Province have detained five people who allegedly crossed illegally from Cambodia into Vietnam, one of whom had used drugs unlawfully.

Authorities in Tay Ninh Province have detected five people who allegedly entered Vietnam illegally from Cambodia, including one who had used illegal drugs, according to border officials.

On August 19, the Tay Ninh Border Guard worked with other authorities to complete case files and handle the five people in accordance with the law.

At around 11.45 am on August 16, patrol officers discovered three people who had crossed illegally from Cambodia into Vietnam: Do Quang Dong, born in 1990 and from Bac Ninh Province; Hoang Thi Hong Ngoc, born in 1995 and from Phu Tho Province; and Duong Van Quang, born in 2008 and from Thai Nguyen Province.

Authorities determined that all three had crossed the border without completing the required exit and entry procedures. Quang was also found to have used illegal drugs, although the offence was not serious enough to warrant criminal prosecution.

About 15 minutes later, in the same area, authorities detected two other people riding a motorbike across the border illegally from Cambodia into Vietnam.

They were identified as Vu Van Dong, born in 1979, and Nguyen Quoc Hoan, born in 1987. Both are registered residents of Go Noi Hamlet, Ninh Dien Commune.

Authorities determined that the two men were border residents who had crossed the border at locations other than designated crossing points for border residents.

Phuoc Tan Border Guard Station is coordinating with other authorities to complete the case files and deal with the alleged violations in accordance with Vietnamese law.
