The An Giang Provincial Police Department said on August 19 that four people had been arrested: Duong Hoang Van, 33, from Can Tho City; Truong Thuy Duong, 21; Lam Quoc Kiet, 23; and Le Van Ca, 39, all from Ho Chi Minh City.

The suspects allegedly created a Facebook page called "Rosie Hillside Phu Quoc apartment", which had more than 7,800 followers and used the same name as a resort business in Sunset Town, An Thoi, Phu Quoc Special Zone.
They allegedly impersonated the business to defraud customers looking to book accommodation.
In late 2025, a tourist seeking accommodation in Phu Quoc transferred a VND 4 million (USD 151) deposit to an account provided by the page.
The suspects then allegedly claimed that the transaction had failed because of an "incorrect format" and instructed the victim to make the payment again.
The victim followed their instructions and made six further transfers, losing more than VND 637 million (USD 24,000) in total.
As the investigation was expanded, authorities traced the victim's money to a company in Dong Nai Province. After determining that the case involved a cross-border criminal network, An Giang police launched a dedicated investigation and arrested the four suspects.
At police headquarters, the four allegedly said they had responded to advertisements on social media offering easy jobs with high salaries before travelling to Cambodia to work for so-called shell companies.
The group allegedly opened multiple personal bank accounts and completed biometric registration to receive money obtained through scams carried out via apps and social media.
They then allegedly transferred the money through cryptocurrency and foreign-exchange trading platforms to launder the proceeds.
From December 2025 to date, transactions through the four suspects' bank accounts are estimated to have totalled about VND 800 billion (USD 30.2 million).
The investigation is continuing.
